The origins of EASTER

Have you ever wondered why there's an easter bunny? Well I have. The Easter bunny or Easter Hare is a character depicted as some rabbit who brings easter eggs (with or without clothes..). So he brings baskets with colorful eggs, candy, and toys to the little children. Then places them somewhere in the house or garden for children to find when they wake up in the morning. The rabbit wasn't original symbol of easter and its origins were found in Alsace and in Upper Rhineland (I have no clue were those are). Rabbits were a symbol of fertility and extreme antiquity, since birds lay eggs and the rabbits would give birth to LARGE litters they became became the symbols of the rising fertility. The origin of coloring easter eggs is still unknown but the blooming of flowers maybe coincides with the use of fertility symbol of eggs. Many churches typically die the eggs the color of red (the color of blood) in recognition of the sacrificed Christ. Hiding the easter eggs started in the 1700's in the US from german immigrants that told their children if they were good the Hare would come.
